Welcome to my first update as Chair of the Food and Drink Wales Industry Board, which has been
created to help grow, promote and enhance the Welsh food and drink industry as it strives to reach a
target of 30% growth – or £7bn in sales – by the year 2020.
Ambitious food and drink producers from all over Wales are being urged to attend a conference exploring innovation and supporting funding opportunities, in a bid to drive growth within the industry.
SIAL will have over 7,000 exhibitors from 105 countries and is seen as a key platform for the food and drink sector to promote their produce to buyers from all over the world.
Welsh food and drink producers will once again be at the fore of an important London exhibition,Food Matters Live, showcasing new products, the latest developments and proving once more that innovation and quality are at the heart of the food and drink revolution in Wales.
Welsh companies, Nimbus Foods and Dairy Partners Wales, have reported around £2 million extra business following Welsh Government support to help reach new markets abroad and increase the international recognition of quality Welsh food and drink.
