Effective Collaboration Resources
Take a look at the Effective Collaboration Booklet that is also available alongside the Effective Collaboration Introductory Pack. This has been designed to support practitioners to develop their collaborative skills as part of their ongoing professional learning.
The Professional Learning Passport (PLP) is now live and available through ‘myEWC’ portal on the EWC website. You can use it to plan, record, and reflect on your professional learning/development. As a PLP user, you’ll be able to feed into future development and enhancement of the PLP.

Publication of the draft Additional Learning Needs Code and outline plan for implementation to support consultation on the draft Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Bill. These drafts will form the basis for continued engagement between Welsh Government and local authorities, professionals and others to further develop the Code and plans for implementation. Estyn has concluded a two year study commissioned by the Welsh Government into the effectiveness of teaching and learning observations. The first year reported on teaching and learning observations in primary and secondary schools, this final year focusses on identifying effective practice in teaching and learning observation in further education (FE) colleges. The report also makes a number of recommendations for colleges and the Welsh Government. Welsh Government response
A new report is now available on Learning Wales. The Welsh Government commissioned People and Work Unit to undertake some independent research to identify capacity building approaches and good practice in providing support to learners whose first language is not English. Ethnic Minority Achievement Services (EMAS) and schools in Wales contributed to this research which is now published on Learning Wales.
The Skills Show, the UK’s largest skills and career event, is taking place at Birmingham NEC from 19-21 November. Over 70 competitors from Wales will be fighting for gold in a range of skills, from hairdressing to aeronautical engineering, web design to plastering. A visit to The Skills Show offers the opportunity to support #TeamWales and watch these talented individuals in action, as well as visiting the Wales stand and trying your hand at a range of interactive sessions.
A suite of publications to enable secondary schools and colleges to develop their skills and understanding of person-centred practice.
Two publications provide an overview of person-centred practice and help with self-assessment and planning. A third focusses on person-centred reviews, with booklets provided that will help learners, their families and professionals prepare to take part in the reviews.
