Looking Back & Legacy: Uttlesford Zero Carbon and Community Action

Our launch event on Friday (5 June) brought together community groups and partners to celebrate and reflect on the incredible impact of local climate and nature recovery projects happening across our communities.

We enjoyed listening to some thought-provoking speakers and an inspiring panel session during an evening of shared stories, ideas and ambition.

Watch this short video in which Tom Cameron, Professor of Applied Ecology at University of Essex, gives his reflections on the evening and festival.

If you attended the event, please don't forget to give your feedback.

Elsewhere, there was a jam-packed day of activities across the district on Saturday and Sunday. Here's a glance at what's gone on so far....

Come along to The Imaginarium

bulb

Friday 12 June, 7pm @ Saffron Hall

Following the success of the opening weekend, we'd love for all event hosts to come along to The Imaginarium: Cultivating Culture, Creativity, and Climate Action.

This FREE event will shift from reflection to imagination, exploring how culture, creativity and storytelling can deepen engagement with climate and nature recovery work.

Featuring keynote speaker Jules Pretty, the programme argues that lasting environmental change depends on embedding nature within cultural life as much as policy and technical solutions. Talks by practitioners will examine the relationship between citizen science, conservation and cultural meaning, while panel discussions will consider the role of creative practitioners and 'mezzo-level' organisations in connecting strategy with community action.

It is sure to be an inspiring evening with film, music and food, reinforcing the idea that emotional connection and shared experience are central to sustaining environmental participation.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Register for The Imaginarium event on 12 June
