Remember to bring your photo ID on election day

photoID1

You will need to show photographic ID to vote.

This is an approved form of photographic ID to prove your identity, such as your passport or driver’s licence. Even if your ID has expired, as long as the photo has a likeness to you it will be accepted on the day.

The ID must be the actual document and not a copy or image on a mobile phone.

Your poll card

If you are eligible to vote in these elections you will have received your poll card containing your voter details, including details of your polling station.

Although this isn’t required for you to vote at your polling station on the day, it may help speed up the process.

Accepted forms of photo voter ID are listed on your poll card.

You need to have been on the electoral register by 20 April.

Information for postal voters

Voters will only be able to hand in their own postal vote, and the postal votes of up to five other people, at a polling station or our council offices – and they will be required to complete a postal vote return form.
