Thaxted Day Centre, which has been closed throughout the pandemic, is to reopen with a new name and the prospect of widening its use for local people.
As part of a new set-up, the venue will be run by the community through a charitable trust, and will be known as ‘Pam’s Place’ in memory of Pam Croome who founded the day centre in the early 1970s.
An open meeting takes place from 7.30pm on Wednesday 9 March at Pam's Place. It is open for anyone who has ideas or wishes to volunteer to help make it a success.
Today we face challenges in creating a diverse and inclusive community.
Two free virtual lunchtime workshops will be held later this month as an opportunity to speak about women's experiences.
