Your local high street, delivered to your door

We're delighted to announce a new partnership which will enable local independent shops, big or small, to set up an online click and collect or delivery service.

From 23 November, residents anywhere in the district can use Click It Local Uttlesford, allowing them to buy from local independent shops and have it delivered on the same day.

From weekly food essentials, gifts and treats to last minute basics, customers can buy everything they need from as many different shops as they like, with one payment and one delivery.

Latest Covid data for Essex

Every Thursday Essex County Council publishes the weekly Covid data for Essex (excluding Southend and Thurrock).

2,098 cases of Covid-19 were reported in Essex in the last week (in the seven days to 12 November, the latest date for which complete data is available). As of 12 November, the weekly case rate (the number of cases recorded in the preceding seven days per 100,000 population) for Essex is 140.9.

As of 17 November, there were 244 beds occupied by confirmed Covid patients in Essex hospital trusts. This equates to 8.9% of trust capacity and is 15% higher compared to bed occupancy one week previous (10 November).

national restrictions

National restrictions are in place until 2 December.

The measures cover the stay at home guidance, social distancing and meeting with others. It also includes the restrictions governing businesses and venues, weddings and funerals, religious services, going to work, education and childcare, protecting people at more of risk of infection, visiting relatives in care homes, travel and financial support.

Funding available for voluntary sector providers

Voluntary and charitable organisations in Uttlesford are encouraged to apply for funding to help with the costs of providing essential services to local communities.

The Voluntary Sector Provider Grant scheme for 2021/22 is open for new applications.

The grant is for revenue expenditure only and cannot be used towards capital projects such as refurbishment of buildings.

The closing date for applications is 15 January 2021.
