Garden waste weekend skip service

garden waste

The garden waste weekend skip service will resume in Uttlesford this weekend (30 and 31 May).

Some parish councils in the district provide weekend drop-off points at various locations and times across the district.

Strict social distancing measures will be in place and only one vehicle will be allowed to unload at a time. Staff will not be able to assist with unloading vehicles. These measures are in place to protect members of the public and staff.

If you can store your green waste safely on your premises, please continue to do so to allow those who cannot an opportunity to dispose of their garden waste.

Kerbside collections are also still the best and safest way to have your garden waste taken away. Sign up to our garden waste collection service.

Volunteers' Week

VW2

Next week is national Volunteers’ Week.

Whilst there will be no big event to mark the occasion this year, the contribution that millions of people have and are continuing to make up and down the country is still very much apparent.

This week-long initiative is an opportunity to recognise all the amazing efforts that have gone across many community support and charity groups.

We're keen to highlight some of the good volunteering that is happening in Uttlesford and invite individuals and voluntary groups to share their stories and pictures on our Facebook and Twitter throughout the week.

3030 is back for 2020

3030

3030 Essex is back!

This year the campaign isn't about how much sport and physical activity you can do, it’s about moving for 30 minutes for the 30 days of June. Whether you walk around the house more, join in a Keep Essex Active youtube channel or challenge yourself to get the garden completed – it all counts.

All you need to do is make sure you move for at least 30 minutes for every day of the month. There are no distances to run, no targets to beat and no calories to burn.

NHS Test and Trace

T&T

The new NHS Test and Trace service has launched across England.

Anyone who tests positive for coronavirus will be contacted by a contract tracer and will need to share information about their recent interactions. This could include household members, people with whom they have been in direct contact, or within two metres for more than 15 minutes.

People identified as having been in close contact with someone who has a positive test must stay at home for 14 days, even if they do not have symptoms, to stop unknowingly spreading the virus.

If those in isolation develop symptoms, they can book a test at nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119.
