Look out for your poll cards

PS

Your poll card tells you which polling station you should use to vote on 2 May, but you do not need your poll card to vote.

If you are a postal voter you will receive a postal poll card. If your town or parish council is being contested (meaning there are more candidates than seats on the town or parish council) you will receive two postal packs (one for the district elections and one for the parish election).

Poll cards and postal poll cards are being sent out from today (26 March).

If you have not received your poll card by the end of this week, please check that you’re registered to vote by contacting the council’s Elections Team on elections@uttlesford.gov.uk or by calling 01799 510510.

You can register to vote online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. It only takes a few minutes.

If you have moved recently, you should have re-registered at your new address.

The deadline for registering to vote at the upcoming local election is midnight on 12 April.

Postal and proxy voting

If you are unable to get to your polling station on Polling Day you can apply for a postal vote or proxy vote (voting by proxy means you give permission for someone else to vote on your behalf).

To enable your application to be completed in time for the district and parish elections on 2 May 2019, your completed application form must be returned to the Uttlesford Elections Team by no later than:

Postal votes – 5pm Monday, 15 April 2019

Proxy votes – 5pm Wednesday, 24 April 2019
