June 2025

Free TWSP multi-agency training

TWSP face-to-face training – either virtually or in-person – is available to all TWSP partner agencies. If you already have an Ollie account, please log in to Ollie and book your place, unless otherwise instructed. If you do not have an existing Ollie account, please email partnerships@telford.gov.uk and they will be able to assist.

If you have any problems using your Ollie account, please email ollie@telford.gov.uk

TWSP training is free for all professionals and practitioners but please ensure that when you complete your Ollie account form that you complete the billing details section. This is needed in the event of non-attendance or late cancellation, or where a course is chargeable. You will be notified if there is a charge for the course for non-attendance.

Training events - Late cancellation and non attendance charging policy

Demand for TWSP training courses is high and places are limited, meaning that not everyone will be able to attend a course on their preferred date. If you have booked a place on one of the TWSP training courses and are subsequently unable to attend, we require a minimum of five working days notice of any cancellation, so that the place can be offered to someone on our waiting list. Where a cancellation is not received within this five day period or there is no attendance at the training course without prior notification, the employing agency will be invoiced for the full training fee. This cancellation fee applies to all organisations, including contributing partners.

Further information can be found in our charging and cancellation policy.

Building on last year’s event, West Mercia Police would like to invite you to join us for our Online Safety Conference for front-line professionals hosted on Wednesday, 18th June 2025.

The conference is for "non-technical" professionals such as teachers, social workers, health workers, and police officers who work with the public and need to be aware of basic online and digital risks. The event will feature a series of easy-to-understand sessions based on local incidents and crimes. Attendees will have the option to participate in-person or online.

During the day we will aim to demystify some of the most challenging online threats we face. With inputs from the Force Cyber Crime Unit, Online Child Sexual Exploitation Team, Economic Crime Unit, Regional Cyber Crime Units, Counter Terrorism Unit and other professionals working in the safeguarding arena, we will explain topics that may have previously felt too technical or complex to grasp.

Throughout the conference, we hope delegates will share their own professional experiences and challenges. There will be question and answer facilities during each topic area, with an opportunity for discussion following the deliveries and potential further collaboration. In addition to providing valuable CPD for professionals, we hope this conference will act as a springboard for longer-term collaboration and prevention work.

Technology is transforming all of our lives at an eye-watering pace, and we urgently need to come together as professionals to share experiences and ideas about how we can adapt to deliver our respective services to the public in an increasingly online world.

It is envisaged that the conference will take placed between 9:30am and 3:30pm.  The event will be equally as valuable to those who attended last year due to differing content although we very much welcome new attendees and participants. A full agenda will be emailed to those registered in due course. To register to attend either in-person or online, please follow the following link.

The AAFDA Conference Returns for 2025!!

On the 25th of September, 2025, join us for, Tip of the Iceberg: a one-day conference exploring the prevention of and responses to suicide following domestic abuse.

Recent research has found that suicide is now the leading cause of death in domestic abuse cases (National Domestic Homicide Project, 2025). In the year to March 2024, there were 98 suspected suicides linked to abusive relationships—more than the number of intimate partner homicides over the same period. This conference creates space for professionals and bereaved families to address this critical issue, share insights on prevention strategies, and improve responses to those bereaved by suicide in the context of domestic abuse. Drawing on a range of expert academic, campaigner, responder and bereaved family member speakers, this conference will equip delegates with an understanding of:

  • domestic abuse related suicide prevention strategies.
  • the type of support that families bereaved by domestic abuse related suicide need.
  • how criminal justice, mental health and other agency responses to domestic abuse related suicide can be improved.

Due to the nature of this traumatic topic, there will also be wellbeing sessions and support available throughout the day.
