New on the SEND Local Offer
The Local Offer provides comprehensive information in a single location about the services and support available across education, health, and social care.
Following feedback from our parent carer groups, the Local Offer has undergone some exciting updates.
These include the addition of a “New to SEND” section and an updated Glossary of Terms. We hope these enhancements will help users navigate the many acronyms used in SEND and guide them to discover relevant resources within the Local Offer or onwards to relevant external websites.
Our "New to SEND" page has been thoughtfully created for those who have recently discovered that they or their child has been diagnosed with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), or for anyone who feels unsure of where to start.
We value your feedback and would love to hear your thoughts. Please feel free to get in touch with us via our feedback form.

Procedures for ISF Funding for Year 6 Pupils Transitioning to Secondary School in September
The following outlines the procedures for ISF funding for Year 6 pupils during the summer term:
Year 6 pupils currently receiving ISF funding: If funding is scheduled for review during the summer term and you feel it would benefit the pupil for it to continue, to support transition, please complete the review form and submit it to panel. If the continuation of funding is approved, it will remain in place until the end of December of year 7.
If the review date is after the summer term, their funding will automatically continue until the end of December.
Year 6 pupils being referred for the first time, during the summer term, for transition support: To have funding requests considered by the panel, during the summer term of year 6, all new applications must be made in coordination with the secondary school. Both the primary and secondary schools are required to present together at the panel meeting.
If funding is approved, it will be provided until the end of December, of year 7. Secondary schools seeking continuation of funding beyond December, must submit the review paperwork to the panel in January, when we will run a Year 7 review panel. Presentation at this panel is not required.

Following the hugely Taiko Drumming Workshop at The Hive, we were very excited to be offered the opportunity of a Samba Drumming workshop at Shrewsbury Flax mill Maltings.
The day consisted of a guided tour for students and their families of the exhibition which tells the history of this incredible building, the first multi floored, iron-framed building in the world, the grandparent of all skyscrapers!
