Telford Crisis Support Winter Coats and Shoes Project

First children receive free swimming lessons in Telford and Wrekin
Almost 200 children in Telford and Wrekin have now started free swimming lessons a part of Telford & Wrekin Council’s 10 by 10 programme.
Everyone’s Welcome – Celebrating Arthog’s 60th Anniversary
As part of its 60th anniversary celebration this year, Arthog has launched “Everyone’s Welcome” - a project aiming to increase the Black, Asian and other Telford and Wrekin ethnic group’s involvement with Arthog.

Telford & Wrekin Council have been highlighting the benefits of healthy lunches for National School Meals week, 7 – 11 November 2022.
Registration codes advice for schools (including for dual registered pupils)
The Attendance Support Team have received many queries regarding Dual Registered pupils, and as a result have provided an explanation regarding this complicated registration code.
Updated Pupil Premium Strategy templates
On 27 October 2022 the DfE updated their three Pupil Premium Strategy templates. There have also been slight changes to the ‘use of the pupil premium’ to reference the menu of approaches.
Subsidy for Loudmouth’s Safeguarding Programme in Secondary Schools, 2022/23
Telford & Wrekin Council is offering subsidy to secondary schools for Loudmouth Education & Training’s theatre in education programmes, to support RSHE this academic year.
Do you have a Children’s Safeguarding Board?
Severn Training & Schools Alliance are offering a course for schools who wish to establish a children’s safeguarding board and network meetings for those who already have an established board.
Strategic Partnership Board Newsletter
The recent Education Strategic Partnership board took place on 17 October 2022, welcoming Dr Gillian Eatough as independent chair for the board.
Developing the role of the EAL Coordinator Course
This course will cover the role of the EAL Coordinator in developing systems and maintaining appropriate provision for EAL pupils across the school, including best practice.
Children's Services Core Offer: Updated
Please take some time to download and read the updated Core Offer for Children’s Services which outlines how children, young people and families are supported across Telford and Wrekin including early help, education and social care. This has been updated since the version shared last week.

Anti-Bullying Week 2022 is coordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance. It will take place from 14 to 18 November 2022 and has the theme “Reach Out”.
World Kindness Day: 13 November 2022
World Kindness Day will be celebrated on 13 November 2022, and the theme this year is “Be Kind Wherever Possible.”

Telford & Wrekin Music will be hosting a Band Night at Telford Theatre on Tuesday 15 November 2022. The event will be a fantastic night of live music, with bands performing from schools and colleges within the Telford area.

An invitation for eligible schools to register for the National School Breakfast Programme
The NSBP, funded by the Department for Education and delivered by Family Action, is available to all schools that have 40% or more children in IDACI bands A-F.
An invitation for schools to share daily attendance data and view attendance reports
70% of schools in England are sharing daily attendance data. This gives you, your local authority and trust (if applicable), access to daily attendance reports.
An update for schools and colleges on the additional bank holiday on 8 May 2022
In light of the announcement of His Majesty’s coronation on Saturday 6 May 2023 2023, an additional bank holiday has been announced on Monday 8 May 2023.
