The consultation regarding the proposed increase to foster carer fees and allowances from April 2022 is now open
In our December bulletin, we told you that we have proposed an increase to foster carer fees and allowances. Informed by your feedback to our recent foster carer survey, we have listened to what you have said.
We have also undertaken benchmarking. This valuable information combined with feedback you have shared over the last couple of years has helped to inform our proposal.
The proposal will be presented at the February Cabinet. We expect the new fees and allowances to begin on the 1st April 2022, if agreed.
Fee increases apply to levels 1, 2 and 3 only. Fostering Plus, Fostering Children with Disabilities and Parent and Child fees remain the same. The proposed uplift to allowances for children apply to all age ranges. Please see the detailed proposed fee increases in the attached document.
The consultation period will remain open until Monday 31 January 2022. We invite you to send your feedback on the proposed changes to the HubProjectTeam@telford.gov.uk.
A comprehensive improved package of support
The proposed increases to fees and allowances are part of a comprehensive improved package of support for foster carers. We outlined these in the December bulletin. Please see a copy in the attached PDF.
