You can only book a vaccine if you have been contacted via letter from the NHS with a booking link or contacted by your GP.

The timing of when you will get your vaccination depends on the priority group you fall within set out by the government.

Please do not try to book before receiving an invitation to confirm you are eligible.

More local information on the vaccine can be found on the Shewsbury and Telford NHS Trust website.

Cases decline as weekly deaths hit new peak

Latest figures show the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Telford and Wrekin started to decline last week but deaths have hit a new peak.

A summary of the situation:

  • Cases are declining
  • Telford and Wrekin are above the national average
  • Highest weekly total deaths since the start of the pandemic
  • Local hospitals are under huge pressure
  • The new variant of the virus is estimated to be 70% of all cases

Its good news that cases are beginning to decline in Telford and Wrekin but our local NHS is under significant pressure and will continue to be so for some time.

This is shown by the sad reality that more people died last week with the virus than at any point since the start of the pandemic.

It is an awful reminder that this virus is deadly to many and that we all have a responsibility to play our part to prevent the spread of the virus.
