The Telford Priory School Charity Christmas Music Video.

Helping to raise funds for Young Minds.

TPS music

Following on from their lockdown video success with a cover of ‘I’m still standing’ by Sir Elton John, The Telford Priory School, in Wrockwardine Wood, Telford have released another brilliant music cover video. In what has been an extremely difficult year, with mental health affecting many families and young people all across the world, in the wake of the pandemic, the Performing Arts department at the school has released another of their fantastic music cover videos to help raise funds for charity. Young Minds are a charity that helps young people in getting the mental health support they need.

Stacey Jordan, Headteacher at The Telford Priory School said, “We are all so excited to share this fantastic video with the world at Christmas. Ben is such a committed teacher helping to ensure that performing arts take a main role in our curriculum. I believe in the power of performance opportunities and the confidence this instils. I am so proud of Ben and the students! It is so wonderful too to see our staff, students and community giving so generously as this difficult time.”

Ben Millington, Head of Music at the school said, “We are really proud to be supporting this charity and the students have decided to offer an incentive to encourage donations. When anyone makes a donation and includes a song request they would like to see us cover, we will choose 4 lucky winners and cover those tunes.”

Changing Futures fund.

applications open for new government fund

future

A £46 million scheme to provide more effective and coordinated support for some of the most vulnerable people in our communities was launched by Minister for Rough Sleeping and Housing Kelly Tolhurst.

The government is inviting local organisations to form partnerships and bid for a share of the funding to better support those who experience multiple disadvantages including homelessness, substance misuse, mental health issues, domestic abuse, and contact with the criminal justice system.

The ‘Changing Futures’ programme aims to establish new, innovative and co-ordinated ways to better support vulnerable adults. The prospectus, published today, invites expressions of interest from organisations such as councils, health bodies, police, probation services, voluntary and community sector organisations to form local partnerships.
