In recognition of the positive impact community events celebrating Telford's 50th birthday have had, a total of £50,000 is available to support community events up until 31 March 2020.
Available Funding: Small Grant of up to £500, Large Grant of up to £2,000, match funding of at least 20% is required
Eligible applicant: Community and voluntary groups, Neighbourhood groups, Faith groups, Charities, Other not for profit organisations, Town and Parish Councils, Schools, Businesses, Individuals
Aims: To support communities to hold a community event. Events must help to build on the sense of community spirit that was created in Telford’s 50th year and fall under at least one of the following themes:
- People and places
- Culture and communities
- Green spaces

Available Funding: Up to £500
Eligible applicant: Groups across the region including Birmingham, Coventry, Dudley, Herefordshire, Sandwell, Shropshire, Solihull, Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Telford, Walsall, Warwickshire, Wolverhampton and Worcestershire.
Aims: A partnership between the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and The National Lottery Community Fund, the grant supports events taking place during the Mayor’s Community Weekend - Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 June 2019. The aim of the Mayor’s Community Weekend is to bring people and communities together, to celebrate the experiences they share and make new memories. It will encourage people from all walks of life to build stronger community bonds and embrace community spirit by holding events such as a street party, a sports festival or a picnic in the park.
Deadline: Applications open 9am on Friday 22 February 2019 and close at 9pm on Sunday 17 March 2019.
