Families Matter Magazine: Summer 2024

Read the latest edition of the borough’s Families Matter magazine, with information on local and national services to support families.

This term’s edition features information on family learning workshops taking place in some of the borough's schools, including the new Reading for Pleasure and Family Science Lab sessions delivered by the Parental Engagement Team.

There is also information on parenting programmes, a recent parent volunteer celebration and other workshops being delivered to support parents and families across the borough.

Platform to Talk: Growing up and change

Join this online session to discover how to talk to children about growing up, the changes happening in their bodies and relationships.

Parents will get an insight into the pressures children face and pick up some important tips to help keep them safe.

Holiday childcare scheme advert

Childcare for the summer holidays

The Tower Hamlets Holiday Childcare Scheme provides quality childcare for children aged 3 - 13 years old. The summer scheme will be at:

St Mary and St Michael Primary School, Sutton Street, E1 0BD

Monday 29 July to Friday 23 August 2024

Places are limited.  Bookings open for working parents on Tuesday 25 June at 12 noon.

Upstart: Design Your Future Festival at Young V&A

Upstart is a free drop-in festival for young people aged 11-14 who are interested in creative careers.

The theme for this year is ‘Future Thinking’. Working alongside comic designer Sonia Leong, participants will explore what life could look like in 2040, learning how to create Chibi characters and robots. 

Young people attending the festival must be accompanied by an adult who remains onsite.
