March is Women's History Month
 Contemporary women artists, activists, writers and performers, women’s groups and organisations present a diverse programme of events and exhibitions celebrating women in galleries, venues, libraries and institutions across Tower Hamlets. A Team Arts Education: Mothers, Daughters, and Sons Workshop
 Mothers, daughters and sons, aunts, sisters, nieces and nephews are invited to explore the theme ‘Inspire’ and make artworks that will form part of an exciting project by sharing and learning traditional craft skills, creating a positive sense of community and belonging through visual storytelling. Participants may bring along fabric or samples they are working on. Please register in advance as spaces are limited.
A Team Arts Education are also running an Easter school holiday programme for young people. The programme is delivered in partnership with Alexander McQueen and Central St Martins, University of the Arts London.
 The Women’s Spring Open Exhibition at The Brady Arts Centre is a fantastic mixed media group show. The immense response to the open call showcases a diverse output from across the generations. Work on show includes portraits, cityscapes and landscapes and includes pastels and watercolours, prints and collages, acrylics, photography and more. The exhibition celebrates the talent and creativity of the many participating artists. All have connections to Tower Hamlets. View the work on show from 8 – 28 March.
 Join IROKO Theatre Company on Saturday 2 March at The Brady Arts Centre for a free workshop on oral storytelling performance techniques. Oral storytelling is a brilliant way to tell a story using voice and gestures. It can include poems, chants, rhymes, songs and more. It is a unique way of allowing people to come together, reminisce, share cultural folk tales, create new stories or swap narratives. This is a great way to build connections between people as well as between the past and the present. The workshop will explore the theme of HOPE. Booking essential.
 ECOFeminism Festival at The Art Pavilion is a celebration of women, nature and their empowering connection. It includes a multimedia exhibition and an exciting events programme including workshops, talks, performances, and poetry readings.
Everyone of all ages can participate in any of the events. There is also a Short Film Festival at Genesis Cinema which explores the theme in the categories of Experimental, Animation, Fiction and Documentary by 15 UK and International Filmmakers. The festival takes place 13 - 23 March.
 Head down to Young V&A after school on Thursday 7 March for this free family workshop. Create your own bag charm or key ring using laser cut acrylic charms inspired by your favourite book or character and learn about jewellery making techniques. To celebrate their partnership with the charity, World Book Day, meet local independent jeweller Tatty Devine's Creative Director, Harriet Vine MBE, discover her design process and pick up some makers tips! World Book Day costumes encouraged!
This workshop is for 7-11 year olds. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Last entry will be at 4.45pm
 What does ‘self-care’ mean to you? What does ‘self-care’ through collective creative expression look like?
Whitechapel Gallery’s Young Creatives Night on 14 March focuses on exploring the importance of self-care for a creative life. Take part in a participatory session using easy making methods focused on collaboration, expression, connection, and sharing. No previous craft skills needed and all materials provided.
These nights are designed for those aged roughly 21-28 and feature space for socialising, taking part in activities, and making new connections.

 A relaxed, informal, creative meet up for all!
Join the Poplar Union Team on Wednesdays for a cuppa, biscuit and chat whilst delving into a creative pursuit for an hour or so, including drawing, painting, collaging, embroidering or knitting. All materials are available to use, but you’re welcome to bring your own equipment and tools. This meet up is open to all, especially those new to these artistic processes. The team will be on hand to help and provide expertise where needed.
This meet up is open to anyone, and participants are welcome to attend for as much time as they choose - be it the full two hours or as a creative and social break when working from home. This is a ‘pay what you feel’ event to ensure there are no financial barriers. Book a ticket.
 Bow Beasties is the monthly wildlife club for families at Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park.
Join the Cemetery Park Team for an exciting range of environmental and outdoor activities that celebrate the seasons and the wildlife that can be found here within London’s most urban woodland.
Bow Beasties happens every 3rd Sunday of the month (except for August) and is led by experienced and DBS checked staff and volunteers. It’s FREE! Please donate if you can. Booking is essential.
