Young WorkPath update - March 2024

Idea Store relaunch picture

What have we been up to?

Welcome to the March edition of the Young WorkPath e-newsletter.

We hope those in schools and colleges have had a good start to the Spring term and young people starting an apprenticeship, training or a job are settling in well.

Young WorkPath continue to offer face to face, virtual and telephone interview appointments for young people not in education, employment or training (NEET). Our Careers Advisers continue to work with pupils in schools and colleges across the borough to ensure they are well prepared for their next steps and fully aware of their options. Advisers also attend and participate in transitional and annual reviews to support pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) with their next steps and career decisions.

To book an appointment, please contact us at youngworkpath@towerhamlets.gov.uk or on 0800 3581 2410 (free phone) or 0207 364 1401.

Idea Store Watney launch

We moved into the Idea Store, Watney Market on 260 Commercial Rd, London E1 2FB on the 6th November and have settled in well. Thank you to our Idea Store colleagues for making us so welcome.

We were delighted to join the Mayor, Lutfur Rahman, elected members, residents and staff for the reopening of the Idea Store on the 18th January.

Year 11 activity survey

This is a survey of year 11 leavers 2023 and what they are doing on the 1st November 2023. We have submitted our data to the DfE. We currently have 97.5% year 11 leavers in education and training. This is an increase of 0.3% on last year’s figure. Thanks to the Young WorkPath team for their hard work following up and supporting young people to move into education, training and employment.
