Green Energy

Mayor of London's Green Finance Fund

Launch of the Mayor of London’s Green Finance Fund

As London Climate Action Week continues, the Mayor has launched a new £500m fund to support net zero by 2030. The Green Finance Fund will support projects delivering benefits in either energy efficiency, clean transport or renewable energy and is open to organisations in the GLA Group, any of London’s 32 local authorities, social housing providers, NHS bodies, universities and colleges.

Organisations can bid for loans of £1m to £75m, with flexible loan terms and lower interest rates than the Government’s Public Works Loan Board public sector lending scheme. The funds can be used for capital expenditure, with projects that will be operational within the next three years being prioritised.

The first expression of interest (EOI) round will run until September 2023.

Back the Mayor’s Cup 2023

The council is working in partnership with the borough’s football community to produce a football festival celebrating our rich and diverse football tradition.

Businesses and organisations are being offered a chance to raise awareness about products or services to the diverse community of Tower Hamlets, by becoming a sponsor of the Mayor’s Cup 2023. Sponsoring the Mayor’s Cup will also give an important message of support for an innovative sporting event that seeks to promote community cohesion.

Benefits to businesses include: targeted marketing to a large audience enabling you to reach your potential customers or service users; enhancing your public image by sponsoring a community event; and engaging and investing in the community, particularly younger people.

For a sponsorship form or more information, contact 07951 203 144 or email derek.bennett@towerhamlets.gov.uk

Forms should be returned by 17th July
