Families Matter Magazine: Summer 2023

Read the latest edition of the borough’s Families Matter magazine which features local and national information on services and news to support families.

This edition includes information on the positive experiences of parent volunteers and fun family activities to take part in over the summer.

Childcare for the summer holidays

The Tower Hamlets Holiday Childcare Scheme provides quality childcare for children aged 3 - 13 years old. The summer scheme will be at:

St Mary and St Michael Primary School, Sutton Street, E1 0BD

Monday 24 July – Friday 18 August

Places are limited.  Bookings for the scheme are now open for working parents. Bookings for non-working parents will open on Tuesday 11 July at 12 noon.

Young V and A

Young V&A - Summer Festival

Young V&A opens on Saturday 1 July.  It is a free museum where children, young people and families can imagine, play and design.

Families are also invited to attend a summer festival to celebrate the launch on the following weekend, with a programme of free, family friendly creative activities.

Platform to Talk - Good Start at Secondary School

Help your child get off to the best possible start at secondary school by attending this online Platform to Talk session.

You will learn how to help your child manage any anxiety they may feeling about their new school and pick up some practical tips so that everything goes as smoothly as possible in September.
