 We've got lots of FREE activities for children and families in the Easter School holidays from 4 - 16 April. Easter Egg hunts, donkey rides, gardening, cooking and baking, arts & crafts, adventure play sessions and more!
Come and have fun in Mile End Park, Victoria Park and parks across the borough. All children are welcome and there is no need to book but spaces are limited.
 The St George's Day Tea Dance for Tower Hamlets over 50s residents is back. Residents are welcome to don their dancing shoes for an afternoon of live music and song from The Sunshine Kings, dancing with Tony Lane and a performance from St Paul’s Way Secondary School choir to celebrate St George’s Day. Light refreshments will be served.
Seats are allocated in advance and booking is essential due to limited numbers. Bookings open on Monday 11 April. Reserve your place by calling 020 7364 7902 10am - 3pm Monday to Friday or emailing festivalsandevents@towerhamlets.gov.uk. Please book as a group if you want to sit with friends. Maximum 8 people per group.

 After a popular and successful exhibition last year, PRISM return to the Art Pavilion. Their mission is to dispel preconceptions and embrace both a modern approach and the ancient traditions of cloth and stitch.
Using the diverse and exciting language of textiles, the exhibition promises a mixture of storytelling, histories and contemporary comment.
PRISM members will also be offering free textile workshops throughout the exhibition. They will be sharing insights into how their pieces have been created, while teaching skills from latch hook to stitch. The exhibition is open daily 6 – 18 April, at The Art Pavilion, Mile End Park.
 Interactive, spellbinding and fun! Join Bow Arts on Saturday 2 April for this performance with local storytelling trio East3, as they explore the importance of celebrating and sharing your language and culture through song, dance, stories, and folktales.
Rooted in real London stories from Bangladeshi, Jewish, East End communities and more, this performance will dive into the multicultural fabric that makes London - and specifically east London - what it is, as well as the power of lived language, translation, and creativity. Book now.
 Spring has sprung in the Cemetery Park! Join the team for a spring bulb walk on Sunday 3 April as they take you on a tour to marvel at and celebrate our beautiful flowering bulbs with daffodils, wood anemones, black widow irises, the first bluebells, and many blossoming trees. Book your place to enjoy them, and many others.
 This exhibition of documentary photography from the 70s and 80s highlights the huge social and economic changes in the area, including the now vanished industrial landscape and the deregulation of the financial markets.
The group show features work by acclaimed photographers Tom Hunter, Diane Bush, Mike Seaborne, Brian Griffin and Syd Shelton. A selection of photographs is also exhibited from London Metropolitan University’s East End Archive by the world-renowned photographer Don McCullin and the actor Steven Berkoff.
Every picture tells a story and all are welcome at the preview on Thursday 7 April which will provide an opportunity to meet some of the artists and the exhibition curator. The exhibition is open 7 – 28 April at The Brady Arts & Community Centre
Trellis 2021 - 22
 This exhibition at The Art Pavilion, Mile End Park showcases new, collaborative artwork. Six installations have been created by teams of artists, researchers and east London community organisations who have been working together over the past year.
There will be an accompanying programme of free workshops and events. The exhibition is open daily 29 April – 8 May.

 Free workshop for young people 11-19 years old with A Team Arts Education and Poppy Medenis at The Brady Arts and Community Centre
This workshop on 8 April will focus on the idea of 'love as a protest' through poetry, drawing, spoken word and experimenting with different art forms. The aim is to ask questions about activism and the role of love in our society, and to come away from the session feeling excited about what we all have to give to the world. Places are limited so advance booking is requested.
Petticoat Lane Heritage Trail Workshops
 Take part in creative workshops to share your ideas and help to design and shape a community-led Heritage Trail project in the Petticoat Lane area. The Petticoat Lane Heritage Trail aims to unearth and showcase the vibrant heritage, history and communities that make up the area surrounding Petticoat Lane Market and the south end of Wentworth Street. On Sunday 3 April, find the team at their stall in Petticoat Lane Market. Drop in and join in with creative activities and share your stories of the Market. On Tuesday 5 April local residents, business owners and employees are invited to a workshop to explore the heritage of Petticoat Lane Market through creative activities! The workshops will then feed into the Heritage Trail. Booking is essential as spaces are limited!
It’s 2047, a time where aliens and humans live as neighbours and a big change may happen in the world – Two strangers met on the street, both tired of their jobs and looking for some new excitement.
Outdoor dance with a radio drama, Radio Neighbourhood transports you to the future while contemplating on our lives here and now. Join the two characters as they venture into new stages while listening to the radio. There will be a post-show conversation with the artists.

2022 sees the Queen’s 70th year on the throne and Tower Hamlets Council is supporting and encouraging community celebrations taking place over the bank holiday weekend 2 - 5 June.
Applications must be submitted by 15 April. Free community event training on Tuesday 5 April
