Families Matter: Thursday 10 March 2022, delivered online through Zoom
The Parent and Family Support Service welcomes parents, carers and guardians to join the virtual parent conference for its second year online, with bitesize 45-minute webinars on a range of topics including:
- Keeping your child safe online
- Supporting children’s learning and revision
- Keeping your children fit and healthy
- Supporting good family communication
- Understanding and dealing with bullying
Participants are invited to join us for the opening messages at 9.30am. You can then drop into our bitesize webinars which will start on the hour, each hour from 10am to 2pm and our evening webinar at 6pm. Some webinars will also be delivered in Bengali and Somali.
Choose the topics that interest you and support your family. You are welcome to attend as many as you would like.
Each registered conference participant will be entered into a prize draw to win family tickets from our conference partners such as Rich Mix and the Half Moon Young People's Theatre.
If your child has special educational needs and/or a disability (SEND) or an Education, Health and Care Plan, you are invited to an information session for parents called ‘Let’s Talk SEND - Early Years’. Hear about the Early Years Education and Childcare Service, developments in speech and language provision and actions following the SEND Local Area Inspection.

The Parenting Team have launched some new sessions and workshops for the Spring. The one-off, online sessions will give you an insight into some of the longer programmes on offer while providing you with some useful strategies for everyday parenting challenges.

All parents who have attended one of our courses or sessions can join our regular Parent Support Network meeting. The next meeting is on Friday 25 March, 10am – 12pm.
These free sessions for Tower Hamlets parents and carers will be delivered online over Zoom.
Tower Hamlets Children and Family Centres want to understand your experience of using the centres and accessing services.
Parents can share their views by completing a short, ten-minute survey. Feedback will be used to develop and shape the services offered. Respond by Monday 28 February.
Papyrus is a charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide. They aim to remove the stigma around suicide and equip young people with the skills to recognise and respond to suicidal behaviour.
Papyrus will be delivering a special online session for school staff and parents. The session will explore what we need to know about suicide prevention and how we can all contribute to a suicide safer community.

Doorstep Library is a non-profit community organisation dedicated to bringing the joy of books and reading directly into the homes of children across London. Trained Doorstep Library volunteers deliver free, weekly online ‘Read and Play’ sessions for children from birth to 4 years. The sessions offer a chance for families to come together, enjoy stories, songs and play.
The Parent and Family Support Service offer information, advice and support services in partnership with schools and community venues. Our services are also available online through webinars, virtual meetings and forums.
