This is the FAMILIES newsletter from The Healthy Lives Team. Each Friday we share relevant information, activities and resources to support your ongoing health and wellbeing.

The HEALTHY LIVES TEAM supports schools, pupils and families with everything to do with health and wellbeing. We want to help you to live fitter, healthier and happier lives.

A to Z of sports and activities 

Sports and active hobbies are a great way to get moving, which is really important for everyone's physical and mental health – especially after the past year.

Getting kids moving and having fun again has never been more important, and it all counts towards the 60 minutes of activity they need every day.

Quick and easy family meals

Change4Life have more than 30 delicious, flexible dinner ideas with step-by-step instructions to help you make quick, healthier family dinners. And to get you started, they have a special selection of recipes for each day of the week all updated to include just the essential ingredients.

It only takes around 30 minutes to get food on the table for many of them, and Change4Life have made it easy to see which ingredients are "swaptional", so you know when you can swap ones you don't have for ones you do, or just leave them out entirely – perfect for when you need a quick dinner with what you have to hand.

60 second physical activity challenges 

Are you looking to get fit as a family and are you ready for a challenge? Give these 60 second physical activity challenges a try. These activities have been designed using a compete against yourself approach to physical activity, with a focus on resilience and perseverance. Can you achieve Bronze, Silver or Gold for each challenge? A free tracking sheet is provided to record your best attempts. There are 25 different challenges to try so have a go!
