Air Pollution and you

Talking about Air Pollution

Air pollution levels are high in London and this is bad for health, especially for people with asthma. Visit the ‘Tower Hamlets: Air Pollution and You’ website for tips and advice on how to avoid air pollution and look after your family. You can also sign up for free text alerts, which will tell you when air pollution levels are especially high in your local area.

If you want more advice or support on asthma and air pollution, speak to your school nurse, pharmacist, and GP. They are there to help you.

Bee Garden

Radio 2’s Big Bee Challenge

The Big Bee Challenge is a new competition for children between the ages of 6 and 12 and is a collaboration between BBC Radio 2 and the Royal Horticultural Society. It involves ‘designing a bright, buzzy garden that will attract bees and other pollinating insects.’ Bees and other insects are important for a healthy environment and provide much of the food we eat. The winning garden design will be built at an NHS Trust site, used for children and young people with mental health needs. Bee themed goodie bags will be awarded to each shortlisted finalist. A garden design template and entry details are on the website. The closing date is 6pm on Monday 5th July 2021.
