Self-care

Self-care for parents and carers

For many parents and carers, finding time for yourself can be a challenge. This can be especially true if you are supporting a child or young person with their mental health.

The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families worked with their parent champions to create a new resource which offers self-care advice for parents and carers.

Family ties

Family ties online therapy for parents in conflict – limited funded places available

Following a successful pilot, the Family Ties Project at the Anna Freud Centre has secured additional funding to continue supporting families facing parental conflict.

Funded by BBC Children in Need, they will be accepting referrals for the Family Ties Online Therapy for Parents in Conflict over the next 12 months. But places are limited, so early referrals are recommended.

The intervention is designed for parental couples in conflict, together or separated, with a child of any age, who want to reduce the impact of arguments or communication difficulties on their child. Families should not be in family courts at the time of participation in the programme. They are accepting self-referrals or referrals from professionals.

For more information and to refer, visit the website or contact FamilyTies@annafreud.org
