Take care,
The Healthy Lives team at London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
Here's a selection of fun activities for you and your family...
Have a healthy start to the day - walk to school!
During the return to school, Transport For London (TFL) are asking schools to enable and encourage children and their parents to walk, cycle and scoot to school. This will help to prioritise spaces on the buses for those who need to use it.
Free posters are available to help promote this in primary and secondary schools.
FREE - East Summer School online
FREE creative, tech and design industry courses over the Summer for young people aged 12 to 17-years-old in LBTH, Newham, Hackney and Waltham Forest.
From one-off classes to full-week courses, there are lots of fantastic sessions packed with unique and interactive experiences. It’s a great chance to meet new people and have fun!
Cat and dog DIY notebook covers
Simple to make, they turn a plain notebook into a must-have stationery item that you will want to have on hand at all times. They also make great party bag fillers or a thoughtful gift for someone starting a new job or first day at school.
 A virtual playdate
Create a virtual playdate that children will love with these activities and games you can play on Zoom, FaceTime or Skype. What a great way to stay in touch with friends and family.
 Tuna and bean salad recipe
This colourful salad is a good way to include fish in your child's lunch. This would work well with a slice of malt loaf and a satsuma.
 Make natural art
Arts and crafts are a popular way to keep children busy. To mix things up, put the pencils and crayons to one side and look for natural art materials instead. Collect fallen leaves, petals and sticks and use them to make a picture or sculpture. Be sure you don't pick wildflowers, however, as they are important for wildlife and some are protected by law.
“And, in the end the love you take is equal to the love you make.”
Paul McCartney, The Beatles Illustrated Lyrics
