Here's a selection of fun activities for you today...
Snow Mouse (under-fours)
This is a lovely 30-minute tale for the under-fours. Nothing beats live theatre, but if you can't take your child to the theatre, then let us bring the theatre to your child.
Little Red Riding Hood (up to five-years)
The big bad wolf is soppy rather than scary in the Northern Ballet’s sweet re-telling of this fairy tale favourite. He wouldn’t dream of eating Gran and ends up being invited to a jolly tea party instead. A spring tour of the production has been cancelled but this is a version adapted for CBeebies.
The Winter's Tale online broadcast (adults)
Shakespeare’s tale of love and loss becomes the most masterful of narrative ballets in Christopher Wheeldon’s inspired adaptation, with music by Joby Talbot. This is being broadcast free online as part of the Royal Opera House's #OurHouseToYourHouse series.
Showstopper! The improvised musical (adults)
After more than 1,000 productions, the Showstoppers improvisation crew are some of the quickest wits in the business. So, it’s no surprise that when they were faced with a West End closure they live-streamed a performance. Watch their custom-made, never-to-be-repeated improvised musical.

More on staying healthy, happy and entertained at home
In addition to the highlights featured here, the council has put together a whole host of resources to help families and individuals stay happy, healthy and entertained while they spend more time at home due to the coronavirus pandemic.
From online Idea Store materials to educational activities, learning a new skill or hobby, taking a virtual museum or zoo tour, keeping fit or just having pure fun, we've got it all in one place.
And remember...
“When you are enthusiastic about what you do, you feel this positive energy. It’s very simple.”
