The Data Protection Team is raising awareness of our data privacy responsibilities and promoting good practice, including informing you about your rights and how to exercise them.
As a Council we collect and share large volumes of personal and special category data as part of our daily activities. We need to be aware of what we collect, why we collect it, what we do with it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and how we securely dispose of it.
We must maintain control over the information we process and restrict access to only those that are authorised to use it, ensuring the confidentially and integrity of the information being processed.
Tomorrow, the Data Protection Team will be based in the Civic Centre reception between 12pm - 2pm and 2:30pm - 4:30pm in Committee Room 3. The team will be on hand to answer any burning questions you may have about data protection, so please drop in.
