New Posts!
Western Power Distribution Community Matters Fund – Deadline 14th June - New Post!
This fund has a budget of £500,000 to provide small grants of up to £2,500 to not-for-profit organisations providing projects in its operational area that address food poverty and holiday hunger, particularly for projects in one or more of the following areas:
- Delivering educational activities focused on skills development and ongoing support to reduce food poverty (this could include, for example, cookery classes, budgeting support, benefits and debt advice).
- Delivering services to assist families affected by holiday hunger, such as food pantries.
- Provide food to families affected by holiday hunger, for example food parcels and serving meals, and/or
- Providing innovative approaches to holiday hunger and food poverty.
While grants of up to £2,500 are available with no matched funding requirement, applicants cannot apply for more than 50% of their most recent annual income. For example, a voluntary group with an annual income of £4,000 can only apply for up to £2,000. Any grant awarded must be spent by Saturday 31st December 2022.

The Women & Girls Match Fund - Deadline 1st July and 28th October - New Post!
Thanks to funding from the Tampon Tax, the Big Give can support charities working to improve the lives of vulnerable, disadvantaged or underrepresented women and girls in England and Scotland throughout 2022.
There are two opportunities for charities to access this funding over the course of 2022:
The Christmas Challenge 2022. The UK's biggest match funding campaign takes place from 29th November - 6th December. Applications open from 16th May - 1st July. Up to £25,000 in match funding is available per charity.
Run your own match funding campaign. Run your own match funding campaign on the Big Give platform at a time that suits you. Applications open from 1st April - 28th October. Up to £10,000 in match funding is available per charity.
To be eligible to apply, charities must meet all of the following criteria:
- Charities that are led by, for and with women and girls. To assess this, we will look at whether your governing document specifically mentions women and/or girls, whether you have a majority female board, who your beneficiaries are and your web presence (if your organisation has one).
- Charities that are working to improve the lives of vulnerable, disadvantaged or underrepresented women and girls in England and Scotland.
- UK-registered charities with at least one year of filed accounts and an annual income of at least £25,000 (as per last filed accounts), or organisations with tax-exempt status for charitable purposes.
- Charities which are registered on theBigGive.org.uk (free to register).
They encourage applications from charities that are led by Black and minoritised women and girls, LGBTQI women and girls, or Disabled women and girls.

NFU Mutual Charitable Trust grants - Deadline 28th October 2022 - New Post!
The Trust focuses on providing funding to larger initiatives, which would have a significant impact on the rural community. The Trustees are particularly interested in initiatives in the areas of education of young people in rural areas and relief of poverty within rural areas.
The Trustees meet twice a year to consider applications received. These meetings are currently held in June and November.
Applications for the November meeting they must be submitted by 28 October 2022.

Woodland Trust - Deadline November 2022 - New Post!
Free Trees for Schools and communities. The Woodland Trust want to make sure everybody in the UK has the chance to plant a tree. So are giving away hundreds of thousands of trees to Schools and communities. Together we will get millions of trees in the ground.
The UK needs millions more trees to reach its 2050 carbon net-zero target goal.
The scheme is currently accepting applications for trees to be delivered in November 2022. Even if your application is unsuccessful, you can visit their shop and buy packs all year round.

Places and Spaces Fund - Sport England - Deadline December 2022 - New Post!
This fund is being boosted to £7 million as it goes nationwide to help communities across England benefit from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Originally launched in November 2021, extra National Lottery funding has been committed to extend the fund across England and help community organisations make small-scale facility improvements that will help to develop places and spaces wanting to use Birmingham 2022 as a catalyst to improve community sport and physical activity.
While the fund is now available to applicants nationwide, four areas have been selected for targeted investment to support people to get, having been identified as areas of underrepresentation in activity figures. These areas are Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Tyne and Wear and Tees Valley.
Places and Spaces has been developed in partnership with Crowdfunder and will see Sport England award match funding of up to £10,000 to eligible applicants who run a successful community crowdfunding campaign. They anticipate the fund will remain open until December 2
Andor Charitable Trust - New Post!
Grants of between £1,000 and £5,000 are available to registered charities based and working in the UK, particularly those that are involved in providing medical and ancillary services, education, helping the aged and disabled, relieving poverty and developing the arts. The overarching objectives of the Andor Charitable Trust are to maintain, support or contribute to registered charities across the United Kingdom, including those engaged in:
- Developing the Arts
- Education
- Helping the aged and disabled
- Medical and ancillary services, and
- The relief of poverty
Grant awards tend to have no match-funding requirement. The average grant award is around £1,750.

Closing Opportunities!
Parkinson's UK Physical Activity Grants programme - Deadline 10th June 22
Grants of up to £2,500 are available to activity providers, communities, networks, and organisations across the UK to develop new opportunities for people with Parkinson's to become and stay active
Examples of the types of projects and activities that can be supported include:
- Expanding activities/classes etc. to include people with Parkinson's
- Buying equipment that will facilitate or enhance activities
- Essential maintenance or replacement of equipment that will lead to greater participation or increased impact
- Facility hire
- Coaching fees
- Specific training
- Developing community activities that demonstrate a pathway into sustained activity
- Helping people to access Parkinson's specific online support to become more active

Free ICT Training for voluntary groups - Deadline 14th June
The Velocity project, which is being run in partnership with colleagues at Torridge Voluntary Services is offering a series of workshops for staff and volunteers of community groups and organisations where you can learn about topics such as:
• What makes a good website, and easy ways to build your own presence. • Ways to market yourself digitally. • The role of social media in building your community. • Making the most of digital devices, your smartphone, Microsoft 365 and tablet. • Easy ways to build content and create engagement. The workshops are running from now until the end of June, and they are all bite sized at 2 hours! Anyone can sign up so please do spread the word. If you fancy a course, but cannot make the time it is running, please enrol but state in the comments box that you would like the training to be sent to you and it will be forwarded to you once completed, so you can watch it at your leisure!

The Toy Trust fund - Deadline Mid-June
Grants of up to £5,000 are available to small registered charities to fund equipment and services to support disabled and disadvantaged children under the age of 13 across the UK.
The fund:
- helps disadvantaged children and their families to alleviate suffering
- supports children through awful experiences
- encourages achievement through adversity
- purchases vital equipment
- provides care
- bolsters existing initiatives
- initiates brand new projects
- and satisfies basic needs
Groups that have carried out some form of effective fundraising by themselves are particularly encouraged to apply.
The next deadline to apply is mid-June 2022 for the July meeting of Trustees.

Arnold Clark Community Grants - Deadline 30th June
Grants of up to £1000 are available to UK charitable organisations, including Community Interest Companies, that are supporting local communities recover from the impact of Covid-19.
Application deadline is Thursday 30 June 2022 at 23:59.
The Arnold Clark's Community Grants programme aims to help UK charities and community organisations that have been impacted by Covid-19. Small grants of £1000 are available to help eligible charitable organisations continue work which may have been placed at risk during Covid-19.
Previously, Arnold Clark focused its grant-making on UK organisations that were dealing with the following:
- Food banks
- Housing and accommodation
- Poverty relief
- Toy banks
However, the current round does not specifically mention these areas, so - although all of the above are eligible and may be prioritised for support - a wider range of charitable causes are likely to be considered.
