Planned A13 road closure from 9 to 12 April
A13 will be closed in both directions between the A128 (Orsett Cock) and the A1014 (Stanford-le-Hope) this weekend.
The closure takes place from 9pm on Friday 9 April until 5am on Monday 12 April.
Local traffic will be diverted via the A1013 Stanford Road. Non-local traffic should avoid the A13 and use alternative routes such as the A127.
When complete, the widened section will join with the existing 3-lane section of the A13, west of the A128, providing a continuous 3-lane road in both directions between the M25 and Stanford-le-Hope.
As part of the work, 4 bridges will be replaced, the Orsett Cock roundabout will be widened and new traffic lights will be installed to help manage vehicle flows. The temporary road surface will be replaced by a new low-noise road surface with improved lighting, visibility, barriers and drainage.
