Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
Whilst one of the council’s key strengths is the diversity of #TeamThurrock, we currently lack an understanding of just how varied we are as a workforce including our backgrounds, heritages and lifestyles.
To be the most open and transparent employer possible, we are asking you to take a few moments to follow these instructions and update a few confidential details on your Oracle Cloud account. This includes details such as your gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation and only takes a few moments to select from drop-down boxes on the system.
We have a helpful step-by-step guide to walk you through updating these details and have provided some frequently asked questions about why completing this is important to us as an organisation. Sharing your information ensures you are visible as an employee and that you take responsibility for keeping your details up to date – thank you for your support.
 Taking meetings mobile
Collaborating with colleagues virtually is easier than even when using Microsoft Teams. One of the benefits of using the platform is that it enables you to keep in touch with others and progress work whilst on the move.
Here’s some helpful video step-by-step guides to walk you through some of the things you can do whilst ‘going mobile’ in Microsoft Teams:
If you want to see what Microsoft Teams looks like as a mobile application you can test it out in your web browser today. Check out the Microsoft Teams demo website to see how the platform works whilst you’re on mobile.
More support and guidance to help you get the most out of using Microsoft Teams can be found on the Intranet.
Our Digital Academy
HR, OD and Transformation will soon be launching a new Digital Academy on Oracle Cloud to support you in developing your skills and increasing your confidence in a range of areas, both at work and in your personal life. This will cover areas such as how you use digital tools and platforms to connect and communicate with people, how you access and deliver services and also exchange information with others.
Next week we will be launching a survey on our engagement portal to help us understand the skills you need to learn and develop. The digital skills audit will ensure we provide you with the best and most relevant information in the academy for you to grow and develop. Keep an eye our for more details on this short survey next week and how to complete it.
