Claire Burges will be visiting from the Prince's Trust to talk about the upcoming 'Get into retail' and 'Get into logistics' programmes.
Get into programmes are designed for young people to give you the experience and training you need to move into a job. They can offer work experience, qualifications and help build your employability skills.

Prince's Trust - Get Into Retail
4 week FREE programme in partnership with Marks and Spencer's for those aged 16 to 25 who are currently not in training, education or employment. Meet new people
and learn new skills as well as gaining work experience. We will also help you
to improve your CV, apply for jobs and support you for up to 6 months after the
programme finishes.
You can learn about stock control and rotation, sales and promotion of goods,
customer service skills and gain first-hand experience of what it means to work
in the Retail environment.
Interviews for this programme take place from
Monday 13 August at local job centres.
Taster Day on Wednesday 22 August at the Thurrock M&S
Store.
This programme runs from Monday 28 August to Friday 21 September.
Prince's Trust - Get into Logistics
An exciting opportunity is available to young people aged 18 to 30
living in the Southend, Grays, and Basildon areas that are currently not in
training, education or employment. Consisting of 2 weeks training with South
Essex College followed by 2 weeks work placement. Please note the first 2 weeks
are based at the Grays South Essex College Campus.
- Gain relevant qualifications
such as Level 2 Award in Conflict Management, Level 1 award in Customer
Service, Level 2 in COSHH, Level 2 Award in First Aid & Teamwork
- Training in picking and packing
- Meet new people and boost
confidence
- Complete a 2 week work
placement in one of the DP World or UPS warehouse environments

programme has good positive outcomes for the right young people, it won’t
