Important information ahead of the general election on July 4 2024👇
Register to vote
  On Thursday 4 July 2024, polling stations across the country will open for the general election. If you aren't already registered, there is still time to get yourself on the electoral register.
You need to do this to ensure you can have your say.
It only takes 5 minutes to register and you can do so by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote before Tuesday 18 June or you can find out more information by clicking the button below.
Apply for a postal vote
  Away on holiday or busy on 4 July? You can still have your say in the election.
5pm on Wednesday 19 June is the deadline to apply for a postal vote.
Visit www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote.
Or you can apply for a proxy vote
 Don't want to vote by post? Alternatively you can apply for a proxy vote. This allows you to ask someone else to cast your vote at a polling station on your behalf.
The deadline for that is 5pm on Wednesday 26 June.

Voter ID
 To vote in person at any UK election you must have Voter ID with you.
There are a number of forms of ID that are accepted, and you can see the full list by going to www.testvalley.gov.uk/VoterID.
If you don't possess a valid ID you can apply online for a free Voter Authority Certificate (VAC) before 5pm on Wednesday 26 June.

The candidates
  There are three constituencies in Test Valley - Romsey and Southampton North, North West Hampshire and Eastleigh.
You can find the list of candidates for the Romsey and Southampton North constituency by going to www.testvalley.gov.uk/GeneralElection.
The candidates for North West Hampshire will be found on the Basingstoke and Deane District Council website.
For the Eastleigh constituency visit Eastleigh Borough Council's website.
