Welcome to the first edition of Wellbeing Wednesday!
Wellbeing Wednesday has arrived at TVBC and every second Wednesday of the month, we will be sharing advice and tips on how to look after your health and wellbeing with information on new resources available, how to access support for a range of issues that can cause mental ill health and effect our wellbeing, along with details of face-to-face and online events that you may find useful.
So, check out the email below for just that.
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW)
For many people, the pandemic taught us how important it is to stay in touch with our friends, family and colleagues - it gives us a sense of belonging and a feeling of being connected to other people. Perhaps not surprisingly, one of the top causes of mental ill-health during lockdown was caused by loneliness, which is this year's MHAW theme.
Loneliness is something we all can experience at some point in our lives. To help keep us connected with our friends and colleagues at work, a series of events are taking place across the council on Friday:
- Grab a coffee and a piece of cake (or fruit) at one of Test Valley’s Big Coffee Mornings:
-
Beech Hurst – Join Amy Mosdell and Sammy Roberts in the canteen between 10am and 11am.
-
Portway – Join Lorraine Cooper at 10am in the break-out room.
-
Bourne House – Join Ray Turner from 7am in the canteen.
-
FMC– Join Tanya at 10am, in the kitchen/ conference room.
We’ll also be raising money for the Ukraine Disasters Emergency Committee appeal and local food banks. There’s no pressure, but if you’d like to make a donation at these events, however big or small, these will go a long way to helping people in need. And for all you bakers…
On Monday, some of us enjoyed the sunshine with a walk around the local areas at Beech Hurst and Portway (see above photos).
