We have launched our new Local Plan - a document to guide future development in Test Valley.
The plan covers how we aim to grow the potential of our town centres, communities, people and local environment.
Your view matters and we want to hear from you:
- Do you think we've identified the appropriate priorities for Test Valley?
- Will these priorities help to improve the way we live, travel, work and enjoy our borough?
- Do you think these priorities will protect the environment and help tackle the climate emergency?
The consultation closes on 8 April 2022.
Let's have a WORDLE about council tax!
Over the next few days, council tax bills will be arriving through your letterbox or inbox.
This year, residents will be paying £153.91* to Test Valley Borough Council.
Just some of the things we look after include:
- Community development
- Waste collection and street cleaning
- Environmental health
- Town centre investment
- Supporting businesses and jobs
The rest of your council tax contribution is split between Hampshire County Council, Police and Fire services.
You can also receive a £150 annual discount for band A-D properties. Residents will have this automatically applied if they pay via direct debit.
*for a band D property. Check your council tax bill or click here.
World wildlife day
This week, we celebrated world wildlife day!
Did you know, Test Valley is home to many Eurasian otters? Over recent years, we have counted 17 of these furry friends across the borough. Some of the places they prefer to call home include Rooksbury Mill and Anton Lakes due to the favourable conditions of the rivers, which we manage for conservation. The rivers and lakes of Test valley also provide otters with a sufficient source of food ranging from fish to aquatic insects.
It is vital to protect this species of otter due to low population numbers. It is positive that we have been able to spot them in the borough, as it means that we are managing our waterways successfully!
