Proposals to increase council tax by a below-inflation 2.99 per cent to continue to fund key services has been overwhelmingly supported by the people who have responded to our budget survey.
Of the 870 people and organisations that took part, 76 per cent backed the proposed council tax increase - the equivalent of less than 11p per week for an average band D property - and 64% supported continuing to fund council priorities.
The survey also asked people for their views on the best way to balance the books moving forward with 46 per cent supporting increasing council tax, 44 per cent wanting to see more budget savings, 41 per cent generating more income through charging for services and 33 per cent backing cutting back on the discretionary services we provide
Help us save money and reduce our district’s carbon footprint by signing up to paperless billing.
By not sending council tax bills by post, we could cut printing and postage costs considerably, and you can sign up to the environment friendly paperless e-billing option at teignbridge.gov.uk/paperless and see your bill online.
You can sign up to our improved MyAccount which will notify you when your new bill is available on line. MyAccount is accessible via a single sign on, is mobile device friendly and also has your waste and recycling collection information and a feedback form, as well as more service information later this year.
If you don't have a MyAccount, you can sign up to paperless and we will email you your bills as an attachment.

Maintenance work will close car park stairwells
Work to the stairwells at Newton Abbot’s multi-storey car park means one of the two will be out of action next week, while re-concreting of the steps take place.
Work will start on Monday (19 February) closing initially the south stairwell. It will then reopen when the work moves to the north stairwell later in the week, closing access to that staircase. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
We are sorry for any disruption that this essential maintenance work will cause.
If you can’t afford to buy the basics or pay for essential bills, the Household Support Fund may be able to provide short-term financial support to meet immediate needs
Even if you've had help from it before, or you've received one of the Government’s cost of living payments, you may still be eligible for more money from the fund if you can show that you're facing financial hardship. Just go to our website and complete the short application form.
The fund runs until 31 March 2024.

Earlier this week there was a fresh rockfall at the southern end of the Ness beach in Shaldon.
The cliffs are made up of soft rock and prone to erosion and landslips at any time.
Visitors should read the signs in the tunnel entrance to the beach and avoid the area under the cliffs.
