We're working hard to keep our staff and our communities safe, and have put plans in place in case the storm does severely impact the district. Here are some of the precautions we've put in place already, but we'll keep you updated on any further developments throughout the day on our social media channels.
Resorts and open spaces
Please stay away from coastal and seafront areas and respect any signs or barriers put in place to keep people safe. There is potentially a very real danger to life, and it not only puts the people in danger who are choosing to go to these area; it also risks the lives of people who might be called out to rescue them.
Some car parks and open areas near to the sea front may be closed at short notice if there is a risk to property or lives.
Leisure Centres
Our leisure centres will be closed for the day tomorrow, to ensure staff and public safety. Customers have been told of the closures and any payments for classes have been refunded.
Waste and Recycling
Our Waste and Recycling Service is currently intending to collect waste and recycling as normal so please put your bins out and try to ensure they are secured. However, inevitably there is likely to be some disruption with the potential for collections to be cancelled in the morning if conditions are worse than predicted. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for updates.
