Devon County Council has published a special edition of its connectme newsletter outlining the different help available to people struggling to cope with the cost of living pressures.
Power cuts will affect the Ness tunnel
Planned power cuts by the national grid in the Ness area of Shaldon on Wednesday (25 October) will prevent people safely accessing or leaving the beach via the Ness tunnel.
The power cuts are scheduled for between 9-10am and 2-3pm which will mean that during these times when there is no electricity, the tunnel will be plunged into complete darkness. Residents and visitors are advised not to use the tunnel during these times.
Notices are being displayed at the tunnel and the National Grid has informed homes in the area affected by the power cuts which are for essential maintenance.
Are you looking after someone else’s child, or do you know someone who is?
If the arrangement is for 28 days or more, the child is under 16 years old (or 18 if they have a disability) and is not living with a close relative, this could be private fostering and you need to tell Devon County Council.
Their Private Fostering Team will work with the child, parents or carer, and private foster carer to ensure the best possible arrangements are in place for the child.
Find out more about private fostering and how to contact Devon County Council’s Private Fostering Team.
Every year Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service seeks the views of communities and businesses about the level of the council tax contribution for the fire and rescue service.
This year’s consultation is open now until midday on 30 November and the Service would like to hear from as many people as possible across Devon and Somerset to better understand residents' views.
You can take part through the online survey or use the QR code on the picture on the right.
