Here’s how to claim your one-off cost of living payment
The first phase of distributing the council’s cost-of -living payment has been completed with most eligible households who made a direct debit payment in April receiving the one-off £5.54 payment directly into their bank accounts.
For those who pay their council tax in other ways, we expect to launch on Wednesday a simple, secure web form to enable you to provide your council tax reference number and bank details so the cost-of-living payment can be made to you. Just follow the link from our cost of living page to find the form which will go live during Wednesday.
If you have a problem completing the online form, please contact our customer support team on 01626 361101 Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5pm. Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm. We will never call you to ask you to provide these details over the phone.
This cost-of-living payment is the equivalent to this year’s Teignbridge share of the council tax increase on a Band D property and will be paid to all eligible households, irrespective of their banding.

Check children’s MMR vaccine records following rise in measles cases
Parents are being urged to check children are up to date with their MMR vaccinations by checking their vaccine record in their Red Book as data published by UKHSA shows there has been a rise in measles cases.
Professor Dominic Mellon, Deputy Director for UKHSA South West, said: “Measles is not ‘just a harmless childhood illness’. It spreads very easily and can lead to complications that require a stay in hospital and on rare occasions can cause lifelong disability or death, so it is very concerning to see cases increasing.
“Vaccines are our best line of defence against diseases like measles, mumps and rubella and help stop outbreaks occurring in the community. The vaccines are free on the NHS whatever your age. If anyone has missed one or both doses of the MMR vaccine, contact your GP practice to book an appointment. It is never too late to catch up.”
In recent years the number of children vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella has fallen. Uptake for the first dose of the MMR vaccine in 2-year-olds in the South West is 93.2%, and uptake of two MMR doses at 5 years is 90.6%*, below the 95% target set by the World Health Organization which is necessary to achieve and maintain elimination.
