Help us to help you

Landlords already face many challenges and we recognise that keeping up to date with legislation can be difficult and expensive.

With imminent changes such as the end of no-fault evictions, legislation to prevent blanket bans on families with children and those on receipt of benefits and a new Ombudsman on the horizon, little wonder that some landlords are questioning their futures in the rented market.

We’d like to understand better the private rental market in Teignbridge, the views of landlords and the issues which concern you most.

Please can you complete this survey and give us your thoughts on letting related legislation/proposed changes and your plans for your Teignbridge only rental property/portfolio over the coming years.

Having your views will help us greatly moving forward, give us a better understanding of what you see as the main challenges and help us plan more effectively how we can help people who need a roof over their heads.  In particular we want to know if there are any actions we can take as a council that would encourage you to rent to people in housing need or whether any training would help you cope with future changes.

Last chance to comment on local plan 2020-2040

Teignbridge Local Plan 2020- 2040 Consultation has started and runs until 13 March 2023

A seven-week consultation closes at midday on Monday 13 March, giving you a fifth and final chance to comment on the Draft Local Plan which will shape development in the district until 2040.

The Plan and all comments received from residents, businesses and other organisations will then be passed to the planning inspectorate for review and public examination. Anyone who submits a written objection can request to appear before the inspector at the local plan examination hearing.

The Plan identifies land for homes and jobs for local people, protects valued environments and creates more public open spaces. It tackles climate change and promotes low carbon energy to help secure future needs. It also sets out the infrastructure needed to support developments such as roads, schools and health centres.
