Join a free and friendly wellbeing walk in Ipplepen on alternate Tuesdays
Meet 10am, Ipplepen Health Centre, Silver St, TQ12 5QA
A walk can do wonders for your mental wellbeing, improving sleep and reducing fatigue, but it’s not just about the feel-good factor.
The group helps you feel socially connected and connected to nature, with conversation along the way. Walking also boosts your immune system, improves heart & lung function, and lowers blood pressure.
Ipplepen walks are between a grade one and grade two walk which means they are suitable for people who are looking to increase their activity levels. They last for approximately 45 to 90 minutes duration and may include some slight slopes, steps and uneven surfaces. If you have any questions about taking part, please call for a chat.
To find out when the next walk takes place, please contact walk leaders Phil (01803 414031 / 07703 392241), Michael (01626 353500 / 07890 395947), Bill (01803 812582) or Mel (01803 812580) or go to Walks for Wellbeing on our website or email greenspaces@teignbridge.gov.uk Parking & public toilets are near the health centre.

A new boardwalk and accessible path at Magazine Pond at is being installed by Idverde, our grounds maintenance contractor and our Countryside Rangers.
Anglers wanting to fish at Decoy Countryside Park can now apply for a permit online.
In the past applications have been paper based with payment by phone.
The new procedure should make it easier for anglers to apply for either a daily or annual permit.
Posters are being displayed at Decoy, containing a QR code which makes it simple for people to link to our website to buy a pass.

Our green spaces consist of countryside parks, town parks, SANGS (Suitable Alternative Natural Green Spaces) such as Dawlish Countryside Park, and nature reserves.
They include a wealth of different wildlife habitats – woodlands, heathland, reedbed, wetland, meadows – and in recent years, even corn fields to support Cirl Buntings!
Sites are managed between our grounds maintenance contractors Idverde, and our Countryside Rangers team (supported by dedicated volunteers).
Our green spaces user survey tells us what you think of our sites. The 2022 results told us that 87.19% of visitors find them a welcoming place and 93% feel safe there.
We asked the reasons why people visit a green space and the most popular responses were for exercise, relaxation, dog walking, observing wildlife and meeting friends.
Costing £2.61 per person for green spaces service provision, we asked users if they thought this was good value for money and 92% said they did.
We installed more picnic benches and seating during 2022 in response to requests from the previous years’ feedback.
As a result of 2022, feedback where 78% of visitors said they found signage informative, we will be focussing some of our work on improving it for the 22% that didn’t.
