New EV charging points in Dawlish
Drivers of electric vehicles can now charge their cars at Barton Hill car park in Dawlish, the first in a major Devon-wide expansion of charging points across the county.
Some 80 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points will be installed in the coming months in 38 public car parks across Devon with the expansion programme including Newfoundland Way and Forde House in Newton Abbot and Eastcliff in Teignmouth.
Three spaces have been used to create the new, fully accessible EV charging bays at Barton Hill car park which enable two vehicles to be charged at the same time and are for the sole use of electric vehicle charging,
Powered by renewable energy through a green tariff, the charge points are compatible with all makes of EVs and will fully charge a 50-kWh battery in 2-4 hours, providing a range of up to 200 miles depending on vehicle specification.

Eligible people can still get their jab as COVID spring booster programme draws to an end
The spring booster programme draws to a close this month, but it’s not too late for people who are eligible to have their vaccination and clinics will still run over the summer.
People turning 75 on or after 1 July will not be eligible for the spring booster, however anyone who is eligible on 30 June will still be able to have their vaccination during July.
This means that anyone who is 75 and over, immunosuppressed or a resident of a care home for older people on 30 June will still be able to have their spring booster vaccination. People who are immunosuppressed include those who are undergoing chemotherapy, have leukaemia or have had an organ transplant. Patients in this group are being urged to come forward and can check with their GP or consultant if they are unsure whether they are eligible.
