A second round of funding to support community buildings at the heart of life in West Devon is now open — and we're encouraging organisations to apply for a share of this competitive fund.
Our Community Halls Capital Grant Fund offers capital funding for village halls and community centres to help improve, modernise and future-proof their facilities.
Grants are available for one-off capital projects that strengthen the long-term sustainability of these valued spaces. This could include essential building works, upgrades to key facilities, or improvements that increase accessibility and usability.

Volunteers, ParkLife SW and council staff have been out planting wildflower meadows at Bishopsmead and Monksmead in Tavistock; the combination of perennial wildflowers and grasses will create a habitat which supports bees, butterflies, insects and small mammals.
It's all part of our Wildlife Warden Scheme, which is working to boost biodiversity across the borough - visit our website to find out more.
There's another planting session at Monksmead tomorrow on 18 April - if you'd like to get involved click here.
Earlier this week we put up some new signs in our car park on Brook Street in Tavistock that mistakenly say it closes at 6 p.m. – but there’s no need to worry, we’re not changing the opening times!
The opening times of the car park remain 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Parking charges apply from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.
Our team are working to fix the incorrect signage – sorry for any confusion!
