Come along to the West Devon Wildlife Warden Scheme and Parklife (SW)’s meadow creation events in Tavistock to help transform local green spaces in into lively wildflower meadows.
This is a wonderful opportunity for all West Devon residents to dive in, work hands-on, and gain real experience in building new habitats.
Work with us to prepare the sites and proceed with sowing wildflower seeds from local supplier, Goren Farm. The combination of perennial wildflowers and grasses will establish a biodiverse habitat which supports key pollinators, including bees and butterflies, as well as small mammals.

Merrivale Prehistoric Settlement is one of Dartmoor’s most remarkable ancient sites, nestled in West Devon’s wild landscape.
This area is renowned for its extraordinary group of prehistoric monuments, including two double stone rows stretching impressively across the moor, a stone circle of eleven granite stones, several standing stones, burial cairns (cists), and the remains of over fifty roundhouses.
These features date from the late Neolithic (3000–2300 BC) to the Bronze Age (2300–800 BC), revealing a landscape shaped by everyday life and rituals over thousands of years.
