We are delighted to announce the opening of 20 Plymouth Road in Tavistock, where three brand-new properties have been created to provide temporary accommodation for local people who need a safe place to stay.
This vital development, repurposed with existing assets is part of our ongoing work to support residents facing homelessness or housing difficulties, offering immediate help when it's needed the most.
With more people across West Devon needing short-term housing, we've built these comfortable, energy-efficient properties to give residents a safe and secure space while they work towards finding a longer-term solution.
We’re continuing to invest in housing across the Borough, and 20 Plymouth Road is one of the many ways we are making sure everyone in West Devon has a safe place to stay.

As part of our Council Plan to develop an Arts and Culture Strategy for West Devon, we’re encouraging local creatives to take part in the 2025 South West Visual Arts Survey.
Are you an artist, arts worker, producer, curator, technician, educator, or freelancer working in the visual arts across the South West? If so, this is your opportunity to make your voice heard.
The survey, run by Visual Arts South West collects vital information to support campaigns for better pay, improved access, and greater investment in the arts. It also helps understand who’s working in the sector and what support is most needed.
It takes just 15 minutes to complete—and your input will help shape a stronger, fairer visual arts sector for everyone in our region.
