Record number using the NHS app

Your health and wellbeing is important to us. Are you making use of the NHS App to access healthcare services?

Record numbers of patients in Devon are now accessing the app. In January, the number of repeat prescriptions ordered through it went above 100,000 for the first time, with May achieving a record 107,200 orders.

The NHS App hosts a range of features that enable you to access key services from the comfort of you home.

You can:

  • Order repeat prescriptions from a nominated pharmacy.
  • Book and manage appointments.
  • View your GP health record to see information like your allergies and medicines (if your GP has given you access to your detailed medical record, you can also see information like test results)
  • Book and manage COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Register organ donation decisions.
  • Choose how the NHS uses your data.

Each prescription ordered electronically saves GP practices three minutes and a patient 18 minutes, making it more convenient for people and freeing up frontline staff to do other important duties.
