With forecasts predicting wind gusts approaching 70 miles per hour on Saturday in Kingsbridge, organisers came to the difficult decision yesterday to cancel tomorrow's Kingsbridge Celebrates Christmas event.
Sadly, tomorrow's Totnes Market will also be postponed to Thursday 12 December.
The Met Office has put in place a yellow weather warning for strong winds from 3 p.m. today. The weather warning then changes to a more severe amber warning overnight.
This means that there is a chance of damage to buildings, it's likely that some bridges or roads could close, and a chance of power cuts, risk of injury and longer journey times.
Keep up to date with the latest weather warnings on the Met Office website.
We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a community focused café or catering business to run our on-site café premises at Follaton House.
The café would serve a busy building, home to a variety of businesses and community organisations alongside the Council.
It has a seating area for around 20 people, with potential for an outdoor seating area. The kitchen and prep area is already fully equipped with a hot plate, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. There’s also an option for two additional rooms which would be ideal for training or meeting rooms.
We’d love to find someone who can provide a café service and be able to supply our Council meetings with good quality food and drink. Ideally, your business will be climate and community focused, using locally produced food.
If you’re interested and would like to know more, please contact Keely Earl via email or call us on 01822 813642 for more information.
