It's Recycle Week!

recycle me

In support of Recycle Week, we are asking everyone to make sure that they're putting all of their household recyclables into the right containers...

  • White sack - Household plastics and metals, including tins, cans and plastic bottles
  • Recycling box 1 - Paper and glass bottles and jars
  • Recycling box 2 - cardboard, printer cartridges and batteries. Cartridges and batteries should be put inside a small bag
  • Food waste caddy - any cooked and uncooked food waste. You can use bags including cereal bags, bread bags and salad bags

Find out more in our guide to waste and recycling and watch our video on how to sort your recycling.

Be careful of parking scam

pcn 2

There is a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) scam text message going around which leads to a copycat government website.

Copycat websites aim to earn your trust by copying official organisations and known brands, often government bodies, transport companies or couriers.

Typically, these scams charge you a fee for something you can do for free or tell you you’ve done something wrong and need to pay a fine to avoid further payments or even legal action.

Please be advised that we do NOT notify residents of a PCN via text. A PCN will be either attached to your vehicle or sent to you via post. More information can be found on our website

For your safety, avoid clicking on any links from unknown numbers. If you are ever unsure if a text or letter thought to be from us is real, please contact us to check.

If you believe you have been a victim of this scam, report the matter to Action Fraud or call 0300 123 2040.

Job of the week

To get this coveted spot however, you will need to have recent legal experience in property, drafting, negotiating and finding answers to some pretty complicated issues! If you’ve worked in local government before, even better, but not a deal breaker.
