Housing Houses

Please be aware of scams linked to the Household Support Fund.

The Household Support Fund is a fixed amount of money given with no expectation to be paid back. They are used to support households in the most need with food, energy, water bills or similar expenses.

These are not loans, so you should take care not to be scammed into applying for these. If you have any doubt at all, they can contact our Benefits Team to check at benefits@swdevon.gov.uk.

You can apply online for the Household Support Fund, by clicking here.

If you think that you may have been scammed, report it to Action Fraud by calling 0300 123 2040.

For advice, call the Citizens Advice consumer helpline - 0808 223 1133.

If you have given your bank details to a scammer contact your bank immediately.

Decarbonisation programme - new push

decarbplay

We're supporting local businesses and helping them to become more energy efficient through a new decarbonisation scheme.

As part of our efforts to support both the economy and natural environment, we're providing funding for a specialist consultancy for businesses, being run by Libraries Unlimited.

The funding is being provided through South Hams District Council’s £60,000 share of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Those who take part can also apply for Rural England Prosperity Fund decarbonisation grants, which could help to pay for implementing one or more of the measures highlighted in their decarbonisation plans.

Businesses can sign up for the project by registering an interest online by clicking here.

Welcome and thanks from our chairman

South Hams Chairman 2024 Bernard Taylor

We would like to give a warm welcome our two new MPs, Rebecca Smith for South West Devon, and Caroline Voaden for South Devon. I’m sure we all look forward to working with them and wish them the very best.

We’d also like to thank Anthony Mangnall for all the work he’s done in the last five years, and wish Sir Gary Streeter a long and happy retirement after more than 30 years serving as an MP.

From South Hams District Council Chairman, Cllr Bernard Taylor
