Keeping Our Residents Safe

Trees fallen in road

Since the arrival of Storm Ciaran, we have been out and about doing all we can to make sure our residents are safe, and where possible, that our day to day services continue.

Over the past two days we have been dealing with fallen trees, blocked roads and damage to properties across the Borough.

Our Waste and Recycling, Grounds Maintenance and Locality teams have been working with communities and partners to help clear the damage and make sure residents are looked after.

Despite the weather, our Waste and Recycling teams have been working hard so that normal collections continue. They have been out today (Friday) collecting in those areas they were unable to reach yesterday. If they have been unable to get to you, yet they aim to collect today, so please leave your bins out.

Well done to all our resilient staff for working hard to keep services running over the past few days.

Please remember! You can keep up-to-date on weather related news on our social media channels, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Nextdoor. Here you will find live updates and advice from both us and our all of our partners, like the Met Office, Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Environment Agency, Police and Fire services.

A Pumpkin Isn't Just for Halloween

We hope you had fun this Halloween!

Have you carved a Jack O'Lantern? They're great fun, but make sure you don't waste the pumpkin by just throwing it away.

Remember to put any pumpkin offcuts and your Jack O'Lantern in your food caddy.

Let's Talk About Dogs

Dogs are a person's best friend... perhaps yes, or perhaps no!

Whatever your feelings about dogs, they are everywhere around and their behaviour impacts all of us. Where they go, if their owners pick up their poop, whether or not they are kept under control or on a lead.

These are the types of things we are asking in our survey and this is your chance to have your say on the control of dogs within the Borough.

You have until Tuesday 14 November to let us know and you can find out more here

So, what are you waiting for? Let's talk about it online here.

Have Your Say On Council Tax Reduction

As the Cost of Living Crisis continues, we plan to help residents most in need to pay their Council Tax and we'd really like to know what you think about our ideas.

Our Council Tax Reduction Scheme is reviewed every year so let us know what you think about two proposed changes for 2024-2025.

Let's talk online here by 28 November.
